The Guymon Satellite office has been serving Texas County, and the surrounding areas, since 1995. We have a shelter for immediate safety, as well as trained staff to help survivors, and their families, of abuse cope with their reality and educate them on how to regain control of their own lives and learn self-determination and independence.

...all individuals have the right to live without fear of violence or coercion

24 Hour Crisis Hotline: 1-888-256-1215

If you would like to have us come and do a presentation for your organization, give us a call and we will be happy to provide education to your organization members.

SHELTER SERVICES:

There is a safe shelter in Guymon that provides immediate safety for survivors once they have made the decision to leave an abusive situation. The shelter is considered to be a confidential location. It is a communal living arrangement and is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is always someone there to help with client's needs.

Other shelter services include, but are not limited to:

  • Food
  • A Clothing Closet
  • Play Area for children
  • Pet Friendly (with limitations, in accordance with County/State ordinance)
  • 24/7 Staff Support
  • Laundry Facility

RAPID RE-HOUSING and PREVENTION:

Along with assisting survivors of abuse, NWDCS is also dedicated to helping put an end to homelessness. With our Rapid Re-Housing and Prevention Program, we are able to put forth a solid effort toward ending homelessness. This program does have eligibility requirements.

  • Rapid Re-Housing
    • Through grant funding, the re-housing program allows us to help an individual, who meets the criteria for 'Literally Homelessness', obtain more permanent housing. Through this funding we can help with a portion of the initial costs to moving into a new home.
  • Prevention
    • Prevention is the notion of helping a family to catch up on overdue rent, and/or utility bills, to keep them from becoming homeless. Many families fall on hardship once in a while, we want to try and help.
